Julie Dalton is the Central Region Venturing Advisor. Julie began her Scouting journey as a Girl Scout, earning her First Class Award (now known as the Girl Scout Gold Award), and as the sister to four brothers in Boy Scouts. As a Scouting mother, she has two sons who earned their Eagle award and a daughter who earned her Outdoor Bronze Award. She has been active in her sons’ Pack and Troop as a Den Leader and Troop Committee Chairman. When her daughter was finally able to join Venturing, she served as an Associate Advisor for her Crew. She has also been active at the District and Council level, serving in many capacities from District Training Chair to Council President. She has also served as the Advisor to Quivira Council’s VOA. She has served for many years as the Venturing Advisor for Area 5 and most recently as the Central Region Associate Advisor for Administration. She has also served on several Wood Badge and Powder Horn courses, and has been Course Director for both courses. She has served on staff at five Jamborees, including one World Scout Jamboree and was the Advisor to the 2013 Quivira Contingent to the Jamboree. Julie has received the Silver Antelope Award and the National Venturing Leadership Award.
Helen Lockwood is the Central Region Venturing Associate Advisor for Administration. Helen Lockwood previously served as the Venturing Advisor for Area 1 and Associate Advisor for the Area 1 Vice President of Program. She has served as a Crew Advisor for Crew 9-453 in Eagan, MN, for the past three years earning her Advisor Key. Helen is also serving as Associate Advisor for Crew 2010 in Eagan. She stays connected to the Northern Star Council by attending Venturing VOA meetings and lending a hand. Helen has participated and led several annual summer camping trips including annual week at Many Point and out of state Venturepalooza. She also visited the 2010 National Jamboree. Helen’s family also serves Scouting in many ways including Eagle Scout son, Unit Commissioner and former Scoutmaster Husband, and as Girl Scout Leader for her daughter’s troop. Helen assisted her daughter in earning her Silver award. Helen has received the District ‘Sparkplug’ award (2010) in her first year Advising and received Outstanding Crew Advisor the next. She assisted crew youth achieving Gold Awards, Youth Leadership and Kodiak Leadership awards. Outside of her Scouting activities, Helen works as an Account Manager-Mobile Solutions Consultant for Xcel Energy Business Systems, liaison to the business for process and technology improvements.
Eric Mircsov is the Central Region Venturing Associate Advisor for Program. Eric Mircsov lives in Hazelwood, Missouri and has been a member of the Greater St. Louis Area Council since he has started scouting as a youth. He was recently the Venturing Advisor for Area 3 from 2016 to 2019. Eric was also the Associate Advisor for Communications for Area 3 and for the Greater St. Louis Area Council. He has previously assisted on the Central Region Communications Team helping with Social Media. Along with his Associate Advisor of Program role on the Central Region, Eric is the Associate Advisor for Administration in the Greater St. Louis Area Council Venturing and is an Associate Advisor for Venturing Crew 2783, Advisor of Crew 9209 in the Greater St. Louis Area Council, and the Advisor of Alpha Delta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega at Lindenwood University. Eric also is a member of the National Religious Relation Committee’s subgroup of Social Media. During his time in Boy Scouts and Venturing, Eric has earned the Eagle Scout Award, Venturing Silver Award, and Ranger Award. He also received the Venturing Leadership Award at the Council, Area, and Regional levels. He has served as a Co-course Director for both Kodiak & Kodiak X. He has served also as the Assistant Course Director of Administration for 2011 Central Illinois Powder Horn Course in the W.D. Boyce Council and 2012 Powder Horn in the Greater St. Louis Area Council. He was the Course Director in 2014 Powder Horn for the Greater St. Louis Area Council and was the mentor for the 2016 and 2018 Powder Horn Course. He has also been the Venturing Dean at his Council’s University of Scouting from 2010 to 2015. At the District level, he was awarded the Spark Plug Award from Crew 2783 and at the Council was awarded the Venturing Outstanding Service Award. Eric is a graduate of Lindenwood University with a BA and an MA in Nonprofit Administration. His Scouting habit has been financed by working at Lindenwood University for over eleven years in multiple roles, and currently is in the position of Workday Specialist, Human Resources.
