Area 7 Leadership

Alexis Burnette serves as the Central Region Area 7 Venturing President. Alexis is from Rainbow Council and is a resident of Tinley Park, IL. This fall, she will be a sophomore attending Moraine Valley College, where she is finishing up her second year in general studies. Alexis is a member of Venturing Crew 422, charted by Concerned Parents of Venturing Crew 422. Within her Crew, she has served as the Vice-President of Program, and two years as President. She has both attended, and staffed NYLT through Pathway to Adventure Council. Alexis served as the 2018-2020 Area 7 Venturing Vice-President of Program. During his time, Alexis was able to help plan and execute both the Extravaganza, and the Conference. The 2019 Extravaganza that Alexis helped plan and facilitate had very high attendance and amazing reviews from attendees. Alexis has earned her Pathfinder Award and is currently working on her Summit Award. She has also received the Area Venturing Leadership Award. Outside of Venturing she was also involved with Girl Scouts, and has obtained her Gold Award. Alexis’ goals this term include but are not limited to, continuing the trend of working with Council’s to help create and sustain Venturing Officers Associations. With working with her team of VP’s and Advisor – hosting the strongest Area Extravaganza to date. Working harder on strengthening the communication across the Area, including the internal team communication. Alexis is planning on hosting virtual meetings instead of phone conference calls this term.

Maximillian R. Gambony serves as the 2020-2021 Central Region Area 7 Venturing Vice President of Administration. Max is from Northeast Illinois Council and is a resident of Grayslake, IL. This fall, he will be a Sophomore at the College of Lake County. Where he will be receiving his associate degree in arts in the spring. Max is a member of Venturing Crew 185, chartered by the local Rotary Club. Within his Crew, he has served as a leader at Philmont during his 2017 treck. He has attended National Youth Leadership Training, Okpik, and National Leadership Seminar. Within his council he has served as multiple committee chairs within the Order of the Arrow. Max has earned the rank of Discovery, Eagle Scout with a gold palm, and Apprentice in Sea Scouts. He is actively working on the rank of Pathfinder and Ordinary in the Sea Scout Program. Outside of Venturing, Max has a full-time job working as a Welder for Laster Precision. He is also member of the Choir at College of Lake County. He is also working with the college and local high schools to expand the choral program within the college. Max’ goals this term includes but not limited to helping retain Council VOA’s, provide trainings to Councils VOA’s over the next term, to personally visit the eight councils in the Area.

Grace Schlueter serves as the 2020-2021 Central Region Area 7 Venturing Vice President of Program. Grace is from Rainbow Council and is a resident of Plainfield, IL. This fall, she will be a First year attending Joliet Junior Community College. Grace is a member of Venturing Crew 19, chartered by St. Mary Immaculate Parish. Within her Crew, she has served as a treasurer working on creating financial rundowns of her Crews finances every month. She has attended Time Management training, Project Management, Training and has attend National Youth Leadership Training. Grace has earned Discovery Award and is currently working on her Pathfinder Award. Outside of Venturing, Grace has a part time job at a local grocery store. She continues to participate in Irish dancing. She played soccer at her school. She was also a part of the crochet club at her school before graduating. She continues to study American Sign Language. Grace’s goals this term include but not limited to working to create a lasting trading post for the Area 7 website. To work with the councils to help plan an event for every council to take charge of, and to Work with the rest of the Area Team to make Record Breaking Numbers for the Area Extravaganza and Conference.

Anna McLaughlin serves as the 2020-2021 Central Region Area 7 Venturing Vice President of Communications. Anna is from Blackhawk Area Council and is a resident of Wonder Lake, IL. This fall, she will be a Junior in High School at McHenry West High School. Anna is a member of Venturing Crew 308, chartered by On Target Range & Tactical Training Center. Within her Crew, she has currently serves as the President, and served as Vice- President of Communications for two years. She has attended and staffed Okpik and has attended National Youth Leadership Training. Anna has earned her Venturing Award and is currently working on her Discovery Award. Outside of Venturing, Anna is a youth leader in Girl Scout Troop 396, she has served as a leader as Junior Captain of the Academic Team. Anna’s goals this term include but not limited to further involvement within the Councils VOA’s, as well as work to increase the publicity of our social media accounts to gauge youth better.

Aaron Beatty serves as the Central Region Venturing Area 7 Advisor. Aaron Beatty comes to us from Rainbow Council and is a resident of Monee, Illinois. He is a graduate of Robert Morris University, where he majored in Computer Networking. Aaron has been involved in Venturing since 2009, and served as his Crew’s founding President. Aaron held the position of Area 7 Venturing President back in 2011 and as President Emeritus in 2012. After his journey in the Venturing program as a youth ended, Aaron took on a new role as an adult, serving as his Crew’s Advisor. He also helped to serve in many various roles within Area 7. During the 2014-2015 year, he served as the Area’s Associate Advisor at-large. From 2015-2018, Aaron was the Area 7 Venturing Associate Advisor of Communication, as well as 2018-2019, serving as the role of Associate Advisor of Administration. Aaron earned the Outdoor Bronze Award and has been presented with the Council and Area Venturing Leadership Awards. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout with his Boy Scout Troop, in 2008. He is a brotherhood member in the Order of the Arrow. Aaron has also earned the District Award of Merit, Arrow of Light, Advisor Key and Advisor Training Award. As Aaron begins his new role as Area 7 Venturing Chair/Advisor, he is hoping to complete the following goals during his tenure including: being able to visit every Council office within the Area at least once a year, able to help the youth on the Area VOA successfully plan and execute a third training event that will be focused primarily for the Council VOA youth and advisors holding a position, and lastly he wants to make sure that all Council VOA’s within the Area are successful and thriving. With a very large and diverse Scouting background, Aaron will be able to guide and advise the youth within Area 7 to make sure that they are successful in everything they do.

Dr. Rima Lintakas serves as the Central Region Venturing Area 7 Associate Advisor of Administration. Rima is from Rainbow Council and is a resident of Brookfield, IL. Last October, Rima graduated from Midwestern University – Downers Grove, with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). She is currently providing Physical Therapy services to children ages 0-3 years old. Rima has been involved in the Venturing program since 2010. She held various positions as a youth in the program, and is currently a Committee Member with Venturing Crew 422. Rima has earned the Council Venturing Leadership Award as well as the Outdoor Bronze Award, Venturing Gold Award and the Venturing Silver Award in 2014. Outside of Venturing, Rima is active with Lithuanian Scouts Association as a Scoutmaster of Zivilws Draugove (Senior Scouts ages 13-16 years old). She is also Assistant Scoutmaster of Scouts BSA Troop G1991. Rima is also a dancer with ‘Spindulys’ Lithuanian Folk Dance Group as a children’s teacher, and tap dances on the side. Her favorite hobby is label pin collecting, and so far her collection is up to 250 pins!

John Parker serves as the Central Region Area 7 Venturing Associate Advisor of Program. He has been a member of the Area 7 Venturing Officers Association as a committee member for a number of years. John is from Three Fires Council and currently serves as the VOA Advisor and Council Venturing Chair. He is the Associate Advisor for Venturing Crew 242 chartered out of Oswego Presbyterian Church in Oswego, IL, which was founded in 2010. He is also the founding Assistant ScoutMaster to Troop 12 out of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL. He has attended and helped staff multiple Powderhorn courses, as well as being trained as a Course Director for Kodiak. In addition, John has helped to staff multiple Area 7 events, as well as other events in other Areas within the Central Region. He teaches courses in backpacking, Philmont Preparation and Wilderness First Aid. He is also a Brotherhood member in the Order of the Arrow. John has earned the William D Boyce New Unit Organizer Award as well as the Scouter’Training Award. John has also been recognized with the Council and Area Venturing Leadership Award. Outside of Scouting, John enjoys being outside at all costs. He loves to backpack and spend time with his family whenever he can.

Kyle Shroba serves as the Central Region Area 7 Venturing Associate Advisor of Communciations. He comes to us from Rainbow Council and is a resident of Shorewood, Illinois. He joined Pack 15 at St. Paul the Apostle School in Joliet, Illinois as a Tiger Cub in 1999. Kyle received his Arrow of Light in 2003 and joined Troop 15. In 2005, he attended the National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill and earned his Eagle as a member of Venturing Crew 402. As a member of the Crew, he attended Kodiak and Kodiak X training. Kyle is a recipient of the Council Venturing Leadership Award, which he received in 2012. Kyle worked at Rainbow Council Scout Reservation for three summers and participated in multiple journeys at Philmont Scout Ranch, Sea Base and even attended the winter program at Northern Tier. As a member of Waupecan Lodge, he was awarded the Vigil Honor after serving as the Lodge Treasurer. He attended NOAC in 2009, 2011 and 2015. In addition, Kyle plans on serving as staff at the 2019 World Scout Jamboree which will be hosted at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia.
