Sea Scout Officers Specialized Training

Recognizing the uniqueness of the Sea Scout program compared with traditional Venturing, the BSA makes available an additional specialized training course for Sea Scout leaders (officers). Participants must have completed the Venturing Leader Specific Training course and should be familiar with the Sea Scout Manual. The course consists of two 90 minute sessions designed to orient Sea Scout leaders with the basics of the Sea Scout program not covered in the Venturing Leader Specific Training, such as advancement, managing assets, and on-the-water leadership. Completion of the course is a prerequisite for the more in depth Sea Scout leader training course, Sea Badge.
