Central Region Area 7 Venturing Selects 2012-2013 Vice-Presidents

The Central Region Area 7 Venturing Committee is proud to announce the selection of Katlin Adams, Amanda Field, and Alexis Yakich as the Area’s 2012-2013 Venturing Vice-Presidents. Their terms will begin June 1, 2012.

In the role of Vice-President of Administration, we are proud to announce the selection of Katlin Adams. Katlin is from Calumet Council and is a resident of Markham, IL. She is a senior at Tinley Park High School and is a member of the Spanish Club, Key Club, Snowball, and Snowflake Clubs. She plans to attend Saint Xavier University, seeking a degree in Elementary Education and Photography.

Katlin is a member of Crew #422, chartered by Redeemer Lutheran Church. She is a recipient of the Venturing Outdoor Bronze Award.

In the role of Vice-President of Communication, we are proud of announce the selection of Amanda Field. Amanda is from Three Harbors Council and is a resident of Pleasant Prairie, WI. She attends both Tremper High School and Lakeview Technology Academy, where she is a junior. She is a member of the very first robotics team (#1652), tennis team, and the editor of her school’s yearbook. She also plays on the Kenosha Raptors Lacrosse Team. After graduating high school, Amanda plans to seek a degree in Biochemical Engineering and either Anthropology or Sociology.

Amanda is a member of Crew #2449, chartered by the Lakeview Technology Academy. She is currently working on her Venturing Outdoor Bronze Award.

In the role of Vice-President of Program, we are proud of announce the selection of Alexis Yakich. Alexis is from Rainbow Council and is a resident of Channahon, IL. She is a senior at Minooka Community High School and is a member of the French National Honor Society, Athletic Training Student Aide program, and her school’s track and field team. She also participated in the 2012 Rube Goldberg Machine Competition, where her team finished 2nd in the nation! Upon graduation, she plans to attend Joliet Junior College and then transfer to a University, seeking a degree in Athletic Training and Physical Therapy.

Alexis is a member of Crew #402, chartered by St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She is a recipient of the Pope Pius XII Award. She has attended Philmont Scout Ranch and completed the Kodiak X course. She plans to attend Powderhorn this summer.

Please join us in honoring and congratulating Katlin, Amanda, and Alexis on this fine achievement!

Central Region Area 7 includes the following Councils: Blackhawk Area, Calumet, Chicago Area, Des Plaines Valley, Northeast Illinois, Northwest Suburban, Rainbow, and Three Fires. The following Councils will be joining Area 7, effective June 1, 2012: Glacier’s Edge, Potawatomi Area, and Three Harbors.
